Data Management Analyst

My Client a Reinsurance firm are looking to recruit a Data Management Analyst to join an established, key critical team during an exciting period of change.

The firm are about to embark on the implementation of SAP and will become the first global reinsurer to have one centralised data warehouse providing them with a single source of operational data. The Data Management team are heavily involved in the project as it works to change and streamline current processes.
Initially this role will be responsible for providing project-based support, with a particular emphasis on the development of the firms Re business systems. Following the successful delivery of the project, the role holder will then transition into the Operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support on the development of the firms Re’s business systems. Review and implement upgrades, cleansing data and adopting/rolling out best practice and attending User Group meetings as required.
• Provide input for IT Steering Group Meetings, playing an influential role in the prioritisation, scoping, delivery of system enhancements, upgrades, migrations etc.
• Provide support with regard to the maintenance and development of Business Objects reports for Operations as well as providing support on ad hoc operational tasks.
• Provide support on a range of tasks within the Director of Data Management’s remit.
• Participate on client audits as required.
• Provide technical support to the Client Accounts team as required.
• Acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of company business systems.
• Respond in a timely and professional manner to all enquiries from internal and external clients.
• Prepare management reports and communicate details of potential issues as necessary.
• Develop effective working relationships with colleagues across the organisation to ensure both client and internal customer needs are met.

Skills & Experiences:
• Experience in Life Reinsurance or Life Insurance. (not imperative)
• Project Management skills.
• A good working knowledge of Reinsurance Administration practices and principles.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills in particular Excel.
• Ability to demonstrate an actuarial/analytical background.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative and pro-actively manage a varied and demanding workload.
• Ability to prioritise and get the job done in a multi-tasked environment.
• Understanding of SAP/ HANA database platform.
• Exposure to SAP data services ETL Mapping tool would be advantageous.
• CII qualifications/background would be an advantage.
• Data-orientated with actuarial skills/mind-set
