Ultra Electronics, Communication & Integrated Systems (Ultra CIS) is one of the larger UK based Ultra businesses and is operationally run as four business units: Information Assurance, Secure Communications, EWST and Surveillance & Security Systems. These business units are underpinned by a shared services structure which incorporates finance, HR, operations and communications. Across Ultra CIS we provide encryption, network protection, automated payments, tactical and commercial communications and telemetry systems, covert and mobile surveillance systems and situational awareness technology to defence, public sector and commercial customers worldwide.

Job Purpose:
To support the Service Team in the delivery of project and service tasking. Working within the Service Team to deliver solutions and services to the ATC, public services and military markets.

Scope / dimensions:
Joining a team of 6, the job holder will be working across a portfolio of support contracts ranging from 50k to 750k. This role holds no budgetary responsibility. Offsite UK travel will be required from time to time.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage key project & service issues as directed by the Line Manager to ensure successful outcomes.
• Support the Service department to deliver projects to time cost and quality.
• Support the acceptance testing of customer systems.
• Assist the service team in the management of suppliers.
• Take direction from the Project Managers and team leaders to meet the company needs.
• Management of helpdesk call and customer returns processes.
• Assist the Service team in reporting to the client to ensure clear communications are maintained.
• Adherence to change control processes to ensure project configuration management is maintained at all times.
• Liaise with and manage sub-contractors to ensure the necessary work is completed and the best results are achieved.
• Follow best practice guidelines at all times when completing assigned tasks.
• Adhere to all H&S related legislation.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Experience working in a project/service delivery environment
• Experience in a customer facing service engineering role
• Implementing, managing & maintaining Microsoft Windows\Server environments including active directory
• An understanding of networking and associated technologies
• An understanding of visual and audio technologies (analogue & digital)
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Visio
• An understanding of satellite communications and associated technologies (Inmarsat, Iridium, GPS) etc (Desirable)
• An understanding of virtual environments (Desirable)

Qualifications:
• Network+ / A+ Certification or equivalent
• HNC/HND Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Beneficial).
• MCSA/MCSE (Beneficial)
• CCNA (Beneficial)
• Valid UK driving licence essential.
• Ability to obtain SC Clearance.
