TEACHER OF BIOLOGY (maternity cover)

Cranleigh seeks to appoint, for September 2018, a strong honours graduate to teach Biology up to A level. This Biology Teacher post would equally suit someone who is looking to start a career in the subject, or someone who already has some experience in the profession.

The successful candidate will teach a variety of classes from Years 9 to 13 in a lively and successful Department and will take full part in the life of this busy and friendly boarding school.

Cranleigh offers an attractive remuneration package and subsidised accommodation is available for the successful candidate.

Cranleigh School is set in 280 acres of Surrey countryside, eight miles from Guildford, and close to the thriving village of Cranleigh. The School enjoys a rural environment situated within an hour’s drive of London.

Founded in 1865 as a boys’ boarding school, the School is now co-educational and currently has around 600 pupils. Pupils arrive at the School aged 13 and leave after A Levels. The School has a strong partnership with the nearby Cranleigh Preparatory School (7 to 13) but pupils also join from a wide range of other preparatory schools across London and the South East.

Cranleigh is one of the biggest employers in the local area, with a large team of teachers, pastoral staff and bursarial support. All members of the School eat together in a central self-service Dining Hall.

Further details and application forms are obtainable from the School website or the Head of School Administration. Candidates are requested to submit a brief letter of application, together with the completed application form supported by a full CV, no later than 9.30 am on Wednesday 25th April.

We are committed to the safeguarding of children and enhanced disclosure screening will apply to this post
