Job title:Service Manager / Solutions Architect

Salary:Up to £58K + 15% flexible benefit fund

Role overview

Can you be our next Solutions Architect & Design Service Manager? Can you lead and manage a team of experienced architects that cover a breadth of Information Technology disciplines and provide architectural and design service support to the delivery of all new products for this very large and established IT customer? You will have a direct influence on the profitability of the project delivery service and on the repair to the live network at 4th line. You team are skilled across all disciplines that are current on this customer’s IT estate and have in-built resiliency through those disciplines & job families, ensuring deep knowledge and ability to support unforeseen surges in requirements. There is a continual focus on the future technological advances on this IT estate where you will use your expertise to increase requirements and initiate appropriate training and recruitment in preparation for those eventualities.Please note that it is essential that you hold or are eligible for SC Clearance for this fantastic opportunity, and that you are prepared to go to DV Clearance.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of experienced architects

  • Influence on the profitability of the project delivery service and on the repair to the live network at 4th line.

  • Own and maintain the training requirements of the team

  • Ensure the team size, scale and depth of experience provides appropriate resilience and succession to support delivery and 4th line repair.

  • Lead the weekly architectural triage process, providing architectural oversight of tasks

  • Drive team employability to ensure maximum revenue earning potential.

  • Identify, engage and manage suppliers.

  • Manage team capacity and attract, motivate, retain and manage people to meet the business plan.

  • Identify and manage risks and issues in the team’s business activities.

  • Provide suitably qualified and experience personnel to future planning activities.

  • Monitor and be accountable for the quality of deliverables produced by your team.

  • Promote Sopra Steria portfolio of services to develop into sales opportunities.

Essential skills

  • Good working knowledge across the full range of POPIT (Process, Organisation, People, Information, and Technology) channel disciplines, expert knowledge of one and sound knowledge of at least two others.

  • Have a deep understanding of Risk and Issue management.

  • Project delivery and management skills.

  • Team player displaying authority; strong willed.

  • Can correlate data into clear, objective direction. .

  • Broad understanding of enterprise architecture and IS/IT

  • Ability to present in-depth knowledge of Solutions Architecture and Service Design

  • Detailed understanding of the contractual scope of the SA&DS service.

  • Ability to define and analyse business requirements and advise customers on scope and options for improvements to the service.

Desirable skills

  • Management of Risk (MoR) qualified.

  • PRINCE2 Foundation qualified.
