Classics Teacher

Cranleigh School seeks to appoint, for September 2018, a good honours graduate to join our growing Classics Department. This Classics Teacher post would suit equally someone who is looking to start a career in the subject, or someone who already has some experience in the profession by taking a post in this thriving Surrey school.

The successful candidate will teach Latin, Classical Civilisation and ideally Greek to GCSE and A level. and will also show a willingness to contribute in other ways to the activities of a busy boarding school.

Cranleigh School is set in 280 acres of Surrey countryside, eight miles from Guildford, and close to the thriving village of Cranleigh. The School enjoys a rural environment situated within an hour’s drive of London.

Founded in 1865 as a boys’ boarding school, the School is now co-educational and currently has around 600 pupils. Pupils arrive at the School aged 13 and leave after A Levels. The School has a strong partnership with the nearby Cranleigh Preparatory School (7 to 13) but pupils also join from a wide range of other preparatory schools across London and the South East.

Cranleigh is one of the biggest employers in the local area, with a large team of teachers, pastoral staff and bursarial support. All members of the School eat together in a central self-service Dining Hall.
