Elevation Recruitment Group are currently seeking a Qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant for a Senior Finance Compliance Officer for a large and successful service business in Sheffield. The main purpose of the role is to support the Financial Compliance Manager to develop a full suite of international accounting policies, including training throughout the international organisation The main duties will include:- *Support the Financial Compliance Manager (together with the service owners and other finance team members) to research, document and implement a full suite of international accounting policies, including training throughout the international organisation during the first 18 months of the role *Implement a review process for these accounting policies to ensure that they stay up to date with relevant legislation and changes to the business and ensure changes are appropriately communicated *Perform international business finance risk reviews and compliance monitoring via regular visits to the international offices (including the shared service centre and central finance teams) to monitor compliance with a full range of financial risks *Document the visits appropriately and effectively, liaise closely with local managing partners and finance teams to implement changes identified during the risk reviews *Maintain an international register of issues for consideration by firm management which highlights main risk areas *Develop and deliver training on key areas by the identification of generic issues which need training or new regulations *Provide advice and training on a range of compliance issues to emphasise the 'why' of compliance as well as the 'how' *Monitor and assess the controls and processes in the Warsaw shared service centre over the first 12 months of the role working with the service and process owners to strengthen and improve controls/processes To be successful you must have the following attributes:- *ACA/ACCA qualified *have good communication skills, both written and verbal *able to report with clarity on the issues identified and actions needed to resolve those issues *have experience of developing a strong control environment within the legal sector *have a theoretical and sound practical understanding of the accounting regulations *be able to build and maintain strong productive relationships with the international finance teams *demonstrate patient and collaborative personal working style; *be able to make clear assessments on the priority and severity of reporting This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a global firm with scope for career development in the future.
