The corporate affairs and communications team is responsible for fostering brand awareness and protecting the reputation of the new Worldpay – which was formed when two payments leaders combined forces to create a global leader in omni-channel payments.

Covering approximately 146 countries, 126 transaction currencies, and more than 300 different payment forms, the new Worldpay will process 40 billion transactions for more than a million merchant locations worldwide annually.

The team supports Worldpay’s global operations by delivering quality internal and external communications, including colleague and executive communications, crisis and client communications, PR, analyst relations and corporate social responsibility activities.

How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?

Working within a small dynamic team, you will be instrumental in delivering external communications and PR activities around the world, for the new Worldpay. This will include developing and executing a comprehensive programme of customer and payments product news across all regions and industries.

With a nose for news, you will relish sourcing and promoting exciting news from Worldpay and wider industry, which will include analysing data; conducting research on issues related to the payments industry; and developing content to support either global PR campaigns or press office activity, or our analyst relations programme.

Highly organised, you will also be responsible for liaising with regional stakeholders and agencies to maintain the global communications calendar and deliver regular reporting via our regional press offices. With a great attention to detail, you will also ensure the delivery of high quality communications by managing approval processes for PR materials such as press releases, byline articles, media alerts, comments and statements, along with our network of suppliers around the globe.

What will make you the ideal candidate?

We’re looking for a Graduate with a relevant qualification or equivalent practical experience in communications or marketing and a solid understanding of media relations/communications.

You’ll have experience of implementing communications programmes and/or campaigns in the payments industry, and a keen interest in B2B marketing, especially in payments and financial technology. If you have an agency background and/or knowledge of how agencies work that would be beneficial, as would a network or relationships with journalists in key business, technology and industry publications.

Experience in editing, with the ability to comprehend and distil technological information into simple, easy-to-understand concepts and content is vital for this role. We will need you to have excellent technical aptitude – so that you are comfortable working with numbers and performing analyses, and can work with patience and precision in refining and drafting copy.

You will also have strong data-gathering skills, an ability to analyse data and validate facts, and be well-versed in comprehending and distilling complex or technological information into simple, easy-to-understand concepts and content.

Ideally, you will have experience working with business, technology, industry and consumer media in strategic communications and product launches; and possess knowledge and experience in traditional, online and social media (e.g. Twitter, LinkedIn). An interest in using visual and video content, images and graphics as communication tools would also be valuable in this role.

You’ll need the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and work effectively to prioritise workload and meet deadlines. It will be vital for you to be able to work using your own initiative and make sound judgements – and most importantly possess a professional and politically sensitive attitude i.e. able to be trusted with sensitive data and information.

Collaborative working and influencing skills are important as are organisational and project-management skills – we’re looking for someone who is deadline and results focussed. You will be an effective communicator, in both written and verbal forms, quick to establish meaningful relationships and have confident interpersonal and networking skills. We need you to be a great team player with proven success in connecting various teams across organizations to deliver communications strategies.
