In your position as Production Engineer you'll have the opportunity to:

-Join a well-funded start-up bringing cutting edge, patented technology into the consumer and automotive industries.
-Work in a small engineering team led by audio industry business and technical professionals.
-Use your production engineering skills to set up a small manufacturing facility in the heart of the UK, and collaborate with overseas suppliers to build up mass production of products and OEM devices.

You'll be working in a central UK location served by road, rail and air links, on a brand new campus technology park with facilities including gym, costa, sports facilities, and wildlife in addition to on-site engineering and test support. This company is a venture-funded private company using technology researched at a leading UK university, with headquarters just outside Birmingham.

Our client, based in the Midlands, UK, is looking for a production engineer to set up, implement, and manage cost-effective and timely manufacturing of their transducer, electronic hardware and system level products. The successful candidate will have a degree level qualification in Production Engineering or equivalent, and at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role, preferably in the consumer and/or automotive electronics sectors. Your responsibilities will include the design and development of production processes and equipment, interfacing with suppliers, engineers and consultants, and managing documentation and change control. You will be used to working with overseas manufacturers, have solid CAD/CAE skills, and experience of designing for cost, test and manufacturing. This is a start-up environment, with considerable funding and proven technology already in place. As such you will be proficient at working independently, with a “can-do” attitude and the passion and drive to provide a successful platform for growth, as a key member of this ambitious and highly-qualified team.

What do you need?

-B.Sc or equivalent in Production Engineering or related subject
-5 or more years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role, preferably in the consumer and/or automotive sectors
-Experience of CAD/CAE packages and design for cost, test and manufacturing.
