Job Description

The Business Analyst will be responsible for conducting effective analysis to clarify, evaluate business problems and requirements for change in a manner which supports the identification of solutions which deliver value, as well as the subsequent design of the business (process and organisational) solution. This includes documentation of requirements and business solutions using various methods, such as: Process Mapping; Use Cases; Impact Mapping; Functional Requirements Specifications; and Features (User Stories).

  • ISEB / IIBA Business Analysis accreditation
  • Experience working in a business analysis role, preferably in a retail environment
  • Experience of developing business cases for investment and change
  • Solid experience in business analysis techniques, such as information gathering methods, requirements documentation, process modelling and process mapping
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and communicate with peers, senior business-leaders, Business Technology Leadership and wider Business Technology team
  • Good facilitation skills, acting as a liaison between the business stakeholders and technical delivery teams translating concepts into language that is easily understood by both
  • A good working understanding of Microsoft applications - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project and Visio
  • Proven business analysis skills applied in a work environment, experience of working within both Waterfall and iterative/Agile project environments along with knowledge of methodologies (e.g. Prince 2 and SCRUM) and tools (e.g. Jira / Confluence) and experience of working to time, cost, and quality objectives
  • Solid experience of conducting business analysis and managing requirements using a variety of best practice methods
  • Experience of working on different elements of the lifecycle of a variety of projects
  • Confident in requirement gathering techniques, facilitating workshops and delivering presentations assigned business areas and wider Business Technology Team
  • Demonstrable knowledge of and experience working with project management principles, e.g. RAID logs, Project plans and budgets
  • Experience of working on projects with complex integration and data from multiple systems, with support from senior business analysts/business architect as necessary
  • Strong experience in business analysis techniques, such as information gathering methods, requirements documentation, process modelling and process mapping
  • Good level of understanding of technical terminology and preferably experience of working in a technical/e-commerce environment
  • Good understanding of software development practices
  • Demonstrable ability to take ownership and make decisions in a fast paced environment, showing judgement on when to seek additional support/input
  • Proactive in problem solving and ensuring the right people are involved
