Team and Role Profile:A core strong Java developer is required to join the RegulatoryReporting workstream supporting the Delta One Structured Products ITgroup. This is a global front-office team that supports the global OTCEquity Swap Portfolio, Single Name, and Index derivative businesses. The candidate will be responsible for supporting and developing Regulatory Reporting systems in a capital markets environment, dealing with UK, US and Asian compliance regulations (e.g MiFID). The role would suit candidates who have a strong foundation in Java. You will be responsible for developing required intra-day and end of day reporting systems enhancements, writing quality unit tests, liaising closely with the business users to elicit and document their requirements, producing release notes, providing support in the UAT testing stages, co-ordinating release signoff, providing bug fixes, assisting in the production deployment activities, and providing ongoing production support post-deployment. This is an exciting hands-on role for a self-starter who has a thirst for new challenges as well as new technologies. We are looking for someone to help own problems and be able to demonstrate leadership and responsibility for the delivery of new features. The candidate should possesses good business analytical skills, strong software engineering skills, a logical approach to problem solving, be able to work in a fast paced environment liaising with demanding stakeholders to understand complex requirements, and be able to prioritise work under pressure with minimal supervision. The role requires someone who is flexible, able to respond to a dynamic business environment, and able to take ownership and responsibility for the delivery of key regulatory reporting deadlines. The candidate will be required to maintain excellent working relationships with internal clients such as Trading, Operations, Compliance, and Risk. The candidate must be adaptable to work across multiple technologies and disciplines, with a focus on delivering quality solutions for the business in a timely fashion. This role suits people experienced in complex data domains. Qualifications:Required Skills: You may have a Bachelors or above in Computer Science / Maths / Engineering disciplines Experience in Java in an enterprise environment, preferably within the financial services sector Core Java, J2SE, Spring, Junit Unix/Linux or Perl basic scripting RDBMS Sybase and/or DB2, with a proficiency in writing SQL queries to extract information Excellent oral and written communication skills A genuine interest to learn the business supported by the Desired Skills: Excel VB- Scala experience, or an interest to learn more Scala Understanding of Global regulatory reporting requirements Knowledge of the Equity Derivative business Knowledge of agile software development environments Database performance tuning Skills: Company Profile:Morgan Stanley is a leading global financial services firm providing awide range of investment banking, securities, investment management andwealth management services.
