Role IT Internal Audit Reporting to Head of IT Audit Division Central Services Description of Role and Key Responsibilities Investec is an international specialist bank and asset manager that provides a diverse range of financial products and services to a niche client base, both corporate and retail. The role spans all business areas within Investec Plc, including Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Wealth & Investment, Asset Management, Private Banking and Property. The successful candidate will have involvement with planning, coordination and conduct of IT audit reviews over each of these business areas and their IT teams, covering a broad range of technologies and systems. Specifically: Assist with scoping & performance of audit reviews as required Conduct interviews to identify and assess processes Identify risks / weaknesses / issues Escalate risks / issues within the team Draft reports for reviews performed Take on Department Administration tasks as appropriate Liaise with colleagues (both in UK and South Africa) regarding common IT problems (across jurisdictions) and areas on which other jurisdictions are reliant (e.g. Finance & Accounting, outsourced processes, etc.) Liaise with IT-related functions & processes regarding Information Security, Disaster Recovery, Change Control and Operational Risk to asses whether processes being implemented are sufficient, and those already in place are adhering to standards. Core Skills and Attributes To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly (compulsory) Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role (compulsory) Coaching & Assessment (compulsory for Managers and Supervisors) Qualifications and Experience: Hons Degree educated CISA qualification Minimum 2 years IT Audit or IT Risk experience Banking / financial services experience and knowledge of settlements & controls processes Previous involvement with CAARs would be valuable experience Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of IT, and of IT Audit or Risk methodologies Financial Services processes Additional Skills: Interpersonal and communication skills / relationship building applied in dealing with the business areas, interviewing staff as to the roles and identifying processes and controls within the business Report writing skills applied in order to write audit reports on findings from reviews Project management skills applied during audit reviews to ensure they are completed efficiently Changes in the market, products, legislation & regulation relevant to the business area: Knowledge of IT security & industry trends / new technologies and best practices Personal attributes and other requirements Personal Attributes: Dynamic personality A team player but can work independently Self-motivated with drive and the ability to multi-task Assertive Strong intellectual and conceptual abilities, with an interest in technology and IT systems Tact and diplomacy Able to deal with conflict constructively Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - provided by Dice ASSET MANAGEMENT, CAPITAL MARKET, CISA, DEGREE, DISASTER RECOVERY, INFORMATION SECURITY, PROJECT MANAGEMENT
