What you will be doing

  • Looking after customer support questions via service desk tools and on occasion via telephone following ITIL framework.

  • Proactive support for our customer systems via monitoring.

  • Deploy, maintain, patch and support cloud hosted environments

  • Help the Sales Team with pre-sales questions

  • Take responsibility for ensuring SLAs are met

  • Share knowledge, create documentation, and help maintain a technical knowledgebase

  • Assist with general system administration and internal IT with desktop support and onboarding

  • Troubleshooting and analyzing application issues, and run small and large projects with IT

  • Work under the guidance of the IT Services & Operations Manager

Work out of hours as part of a 24/7/365 on-call rota (once fully trained)
Open to work split shifts in future inline with our roadmap Mon-Fri (shift allowance included)
13:00 - 21:00 3 days per week
Between 08:00 - 18:00 (Core Hours) 2 days per week

About you

  • 2-3 years experience in a previous role, providing 1st or 2nd Level Technical Support in a customer-facing environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

  • Ability to work well under pressure, with good analytical skills with an eye for detail.

  • A team player, hold a passion for IT and motivated to learn new technologies.

  • Steer customer conversations, advising the best solutions.

  • Good understanding of Linux, Windows operating systems, networking and virtual machines.

  • Basic terminal/command line knowledge, and some experience with web applications.

It would be useful if you have experience in any of the following but training will be provided

  • Strong expertise in Linux based operating systems

  • Knowledge of Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, HipChat, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Crowd)

  • Previous experience in an ITIL based Service Desk

  • Knowledge of scripting languages Groovy, Bash.

  • Experience with cloud services e.g. AWS

  • G suite administration
