We are looking for a Senior Employment/ Reward Manager for our Big4 client in Manchester. The role is to support their clients in respect of the Employment areas within the spectrum of this consultancies services. My client advise a wide range of national and local clients on many aspects of employment related governance and risks, whilst also looking to maximise opportunities.

This tax advisory role is very broad and you will utilise your wide knowledge to advise on a whole host of different matters related to employment and reward. For example you will have responsibility for:

  • Providing advice in respect of PAYE and NIC matters, including payroll, expenses and benefits and dealing with year end reporting (PSA, Form 42, and P11Ds).

  • Assisting clients with HMRC investigations and liaising with the tax authorities on their behalf.

  • Ongoing work relating to National Minimum/Living Wage regulations and assisting clients to manage risks and/or deal with HMRC enquiries.

  • Gender pay gap reporting.

  • Ensuring the clients are aware of and understand the impact and what is required in respect of new legislation when it arises (this is currently off-payroll workers in the public sector, salary sacrifice).

  • Providing advice on the tax/NIC treatment of non-cash remuneration.

  • Undertaking large projects where HMRC requirements have to be met.

  • Developing expenses & benefits policies and procedures on behalf of clients.

  • Due diligence work in order to identify any material exposure to unpaid tax/NIC which may affect the proposed transaction eg acquisitions or mergers.

  • Design and implementation of a range of salary sacrifice arrangements.

As such, my client are looking for someone who:

  • Has a good knowledge of employment based tax legislation

  • Experience of leading teams and developing junior members of staff

  • Experience of engaging at a senior executive leave with clients to build relationships, generate new business and communicate findings and recommendations with impact

  • Has strong analytical skills and organisational abilities

  • An ability to understand client issues and translate these into a PwC engagement (including budgeting and risk & quality management)

  • Ability to understand the market (including current and future trends) and lead the development of new offering in response to changes in demand / legislation
