Main Function of Job
Working within the BCA Applications team, acting as the interface between the IT development team and business/customer stakeholders.
BCA has a wide variety of applications and technologies including; mobile apps, Java apps, Websites, Browser based applications, iSeries, .net, Middleware and COTS products (e.g. Navision and Salesforce.
BCA IT operates with a partial outsources Development model in multiple locations. The ability to interact with remote resources is essential to the role.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
We require an enthusiastic, passionate and professional business analyst to liaise with internal business personnel and clients. Key responsibilities are:
· Play an active part in Agile (SCRUM) sprint cycle with the rest of the development team, focussed on delivering the sprint goals
· Ensure product backlog is maintained and is up to date with all requested product changes
· Input into the prioritisation of product backlog to ensure maximum benefit to the business and system users
· Elicit product requirement details and translate into User Stories so that the development team have all the information they need to develop a suitable solution
· Assist in definition of acceptance criteria for specified requirements
· Communicate priorities and product roadmap proposals to stakeholders
· Report and demonstrate development progress to Steering and other stakeholders
· Provide consultant service to internal business stakeholders and, as required, to external customers
· Contribute to the solution design for specified requirements
· Support business teams in driving performance and improving the business experience and service.
· Provide training to key business personnel on the e-commerce platforms.
· Assist in analysing cross BCA and client application functionality, and ensure that business requirements are matched.
· Input into improving practices and procedures.
Main Responsibilities and Activities
· Work with BCA and client team to understand applications, and their usage
· Work with BCA development teams to ensure knowledge transfer on client requirements
· Be available to BCA developers and testers to confirm and, where necessary, refine requirements
· Review and understanding issues reporting through UAT processes to assist in timely resolution of known defects
· Investigate and track issues across different internal and external platforms, identifying the responsible area and facilitating their resolution
· Build positive and professional relationships with BCA’s clients
Planning
· Client workshops and training
· Methodical approach to reviewing all inter system touch points
· Plan availability of required personnel for issue investigation and requirements specification.
· Input into overall cycle plans to ensure that client priorities are addressed in the correct order.
IT Policy
· Work within the constraints of the IT policy and respect security and confidentiality guidelines.
Degree of Supervision
· After an initial period be able to plan own work and objectives with guidance always available from BCA.
Working Conditions
· Based in Farnham, 37.5 working hour week.
· Site visits to clients across the UK and Europe occasionally.
· Ability to work within a dynamic and fast moving environment.
