Our client is a large well established Engineering organisation.

JOB TITLE: Purchasing Manager - Wimborne - £45,000

LOCATION: Wimborne

SALARY: £40,000 - £45,000

PROFILE:

Purchasing is an integral part of the production process, assisting the Manufacturing and Production Managers to produce a final quality product by ensuring raw materials, bought out components and services are available as and when required in an efficient fashion.

THE ROLE:

The position of Purchasing Manager is a day to day operational role implementing the Company’s purchasing policy for raw materials and bought out goods & services. In addition this role encompasses responsibility for Health & Safety and environmental issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Purchasing

  • To purchase components, raw materials and services of the correct quality and reliability:

  • To ensure deliveries are on time

  • To negotiate the most economic price for all items.

  • Select suppliers, emphasise quality levels.

  • Develop and maintain good supplier relationships

  • Control both the size of the supplier base and its geographical area.

  • Purchasing research, eg market trends, new products, quotations, catalogues, etc.

  • Stock control (bought out); maintain adequate stock levels to cover variations in product mix plus spares. (Review on a regular basis). In liaison with design.
