Change Public Practice are working with one of Scotland’s leading independent Chartered Accountancy firms in Glasgow to assist them in the hire of an experienced Corporate Tax Assistant, or a Newly Qualified Corporate Tax Senior.

This business is one of the longest established CA firms in Scotland and therefore have a fantastic reputation across all of their service lines and offerings. This tax team have not needed to go to market for several years as they have such strong staff retention rates which is largely attributed to the internal working culture and work-life balance that is on offer. This firm offers flexible working hours including early and later starts in addition to other incentives which really make a difference in the overall working culture. As this business has such a strong market reputation, the client portfolio and tax work also adds a lot of value to your own career development and progression.

This role is largely to support the corporate tax compliance offering but can include ad hoc advisory projects. Responsibilities will include:

· Liaise with the Tax Manager / Partner to deliver corporate tax returns
· Liaise with clients to obtain information and manage deadlines
· Prepare corporate tax returns, computations and schedules
· Offer advice to clients and ensure statutory regulations are understood
· Attend client meetings as required
· Research tax technical issues when required
· Manage workflow and ensure jobs are delivered on time
· Prepare fees on a monthly basis
· Keep technically up-to-date through attending courses and personal reading and research
· Promote tax services and develop business as required

Requirements:

· Ideally you will hold a professional tax qualification i.e. ATT / CTA but a professional accountancy qualification i.e. ACCA / ICAS will also be considered, as will those who are currently studying towards either qualifications
· You will have approximately 2-3 years’ corporate tax experience ideally gained from a Public Practice firm i.e. Big 4, Top 10, mid-tier or independent CA firm
· As this role involves a high level of client contact, strong and confident communication skills are essential
· Exposure of working with clients in the charities and public sector would be advantageous but not essential
