Technical Support Network Specialist (Tier 2) - Video, CCTV

A market leading developer of security systems are recruiting for a Tier 2 Technical Support Network Specialist.

The job will involve:

  • Technical support especially on how the system will integrate into the existing network infrastructure at all levels
  • Post sales technical support for bespoke software and hardware solutions, delivering PC-based CCTV recording and monitoring over an IP Network
  • Building and installing CCTV systems, network infrastructure and bespoke hardware/software solutions
  • Liaising with suppliers, clients and end-users
  • Testing new releases, updates and upgrades and reporting on their effectiveness. Full detailed product training will be provided on an ongoing basis
  • Preparing equipment for trade shows

Experience:

  • Working knowledge of M-JPEG, MPEG-4, H.264 video compression technologies and technical security systems such as CCTV, alarms, and access control
  • Industry related certifications e.g. IPVM Camera, IPVM Advanced Video Surveillance, manufacturer based camera training, or similar
  • Storage solutions (DAS, NAS, SAN)
  • ActiveX, and maintenance of complex switched and routed networks
  • Windows Operating Systems in particular Windows Server 2008 and 2012, including installation, troubleshooting, and management
  • IP networking covering LAN and WAN hardware (routers, firewalls etc) configuration, wireless, low level protocol knowledge (RTP, TCP/IP, UDP), IGMP and Multicasting
  • Installing, servicing and troubleshooting security systems and associated hardware. Ability to interpret diagrams and technical specifications
  • Working knowledge of electronics, such as Ohms Law, voltage drops and AC/DC circuits
  • Articulate and presentable with excellent client facing skills

The role will be office based, travel will be required within EMEA on an ad hoc basis.
