An international law firm with a leading reputation in a number of key sectors requires a Professional Indemnity and Commercial Paralegal to join their team in Leeds. If you are a paralegal experienced in professional negligence or commercial litigation and looking for a change of scenery, or even an experienced paralegal currently focused on a different area within the commercial legal sector looking to re-train, this role will be of interest to you.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team in a varied professional risk and compliance role. The role includes dealing with the initial set up, investigation and client advice phases of professional indemnity claims and, thereafter, to provide support to the team both regarding the ongoing handling of cases and wider management information capture.
The ideal candidate will have a Law degree/related subject with a background ideally in contentious paralegal work. Although those from a non-contentious background such as commercial property or corporate for example will also be considered and our client is willing to be flexible for the right person. You will have previous experience and be comfortable working in a target driven environment. Our client is open to looking at paralegals with at least 6 months experience in another area of law and eager to retrain and re focus their career.
The successful candidate will manage their own caseload for a professional indemnity insurer for estates and letting agents. You will support the rest of the team in preparing and maintaining relevant records as well as responding to any requests and client enquires.
The role will see the candidate having regular contributions to both fee-earning and non-fee earning activities in the form of training, assisting others and legal research.The current team is well known for its handling of negligence claims for both insurers and professionals and act on various high value cases. The teams and the overall firms reputation is evidenced from their award winning background from both Legal 500 and Chambers UK
