This is an IT Category Manager (Hardware) opportunity with a leading Financial Services Technology Company. This leading Financial Services technology company is going through an exciting period of growth, transforming the way they run and build their technology platforms. As part of the transformation, they are building out the Commercial Management team and are looking for an experienced Category Manager for Hardware to come on board and help shape this new function.

The position, within the Production division, will be pivotal to building out the firm’s Commercial team. Being a new team, this is a great opportunity for the right person to make their mark in this area and help influence our approach to hardware asset management. You will be working with leading technology vendors (HP, Cisco etc.) with a multi-million pound spend; implementing a new global asset management system, overseeing all hardware procurement.

The responsibilities of the Category Manager for Hardware include:

    Executing the day-to-day deliverables of the commercial management team to meet the company objectives and KPIs Ensuring all hardware (H/W) assets are managed through their lifecycle from delivery to disposal Implementing and managing H/W vendor and reseller relationship management and governance Negotiating H/W purchase and support and maintenance agreements Mentoring junior H/W analyst(s) and providing support and development in their daily work Supporting the commercial team in budgetary management, software asset management, contractual negotiations and management of the ‘purchase-to-pay’ (P2P) system as required
The Individual:
You will have good knowledge with several years’ experience of hardware procurement and asset management. You will also have the following:

    Experience working in a small high impact commercial/procurement team with the ability to take on all tasks within the P2P and asset management process Third party relationship management skills across both vendors and resellers Ability to review agreements from a commercial viewpoint and liaise with legal teams An understanding of the IT hardware industry and an interest in maintaining high level knowledge of new technologies that may benefit the firm Experience of change management and how it underpins asset management Strong influencing and negotiation skills Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience in implementing asset management and P2P toolsets very desirable
