Commutable locations: Bracknell, Farnborough, Epson, Egham, Twickenham, SloughCompany profile:I'm currently working on behalf of an award winning global franchisewithin the entertainment sector, they are actively looking for a SystemsSpecialist to join the groups IT Infrastructure & Services team. Main Responsibilities:Infrastructure Design and Selection Plan, engineer, and design the infrastructure. Evaluate, recommend, integrate and coordinate enhancements to the infrastructure. Work with Vendor and Business Solutions Architects to ensure that modified infrastructure interacts appropriately, data conversion impacts are considered, and other areas of impact are addressed and meet performance requirements of the project. Infrastructure Development Develop and configure the infrastructure from conceptualisation through stabilisation using various computer platforms. Test, debug, performance analyse and document infrastructure components. Lead or provide technical direction to 3rd party suppliers for the planning, designing, and execution of infrastructure service testing efforts. Validate test results. Ensure that tests evaluate all possible impacts on the current infrastructure or application estate. Infrastructure Maintenance Service responsibility for one or more infrastructure, end user computing or application services. Provide support to production support service requests and perform routine maintenance and support activities. Forecast utilisation patterns and identify modifications or upgrades. Ensure that plans integrate effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure. Coordinate changes across multiple systems. Directly (or by overseeing supplier) perform routine maintenance tasks for infrastructure systems such as backups, patch management and hot fixes. Develop plans to manage the frequency of appropriate support package/patch application. Recommend changes/enhancements for improved systems availability, reliability, and performance. Develop, maintain, recommend, document, and supports tools and back-end utilities to provide capacity planning management. Ensure technical service documentation is developed and maintained. Participate in the design, implementation, and execution of backup and disaster recovery plan for infrastructure solutions. Monitor production, outputs, and services to ensure that SLAs, and other quality metrics, are being met. Service Support Coordinate problem resolution among a variety of functional areas and provide subject matter expertise support for diagnosing and resolving problems Recommend and implement software or hardware changes to rectify problems or address improvement opportunities. Identify sources and trends of technical incidents to prevent future occurrences Document and track the status of inquiries, coordinate appropriate responses, and follow up to ensure end user satisfaction Maintain a thorough understanding of Group IT's organisation and service offerings in order to identify how best to address end user technology needs and incidents Assist with the transition of new and changed services into Operational support by Group IT Service and Operations teams (L1/2/3) Assist the Service and Operations Manager in areas of vendor management, reporting, and ensure Infrastructure and Services team runs in an efficient manner Business-led project infrastructure support Participate in short- and long-term project efforts with stakeholders and IT groups. Work with project teams to understand business needs. Work with solution development engineers to understand technical requirements. Participate in business requirements meetings as needed. Communicate events to stakeholders, IT teams, and leadership. Plan, engineer, and design the infrastructure. Evaluate, recommend, integrate and coordinate enhancements to the infrastructure. Work with other Infrastructure and Services team members and vendors to ensure that modified infrastructure interacts appropriately, data conversion impacts are considered, and other areas of impact are addressed and meet performance requirements of the project. Ensure the project is following Group IT standards and security policies. Key Skills: 3+ years commercial experience in an infrastructure role Solid technical skills designing, documenting, supporting, and implementing infrastructure projects Possesses an understanding of IT Services: service offerings, technical standards and policies, technical and business strategies as well as organisational structure A genuine passion for problem solving and emerging technologies Knowledge of infrastructure services, such as: - Microsoft Windows Server- Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing Platform & Services- Active Directory (Design, Security and Administration)- Messaging (MS Exchange, Archiving, Unified Communications- Networking technologies and concepts. - IT security and Data protection- Cloud and mobile technology- Citrix and Citrix Metaframe- Applications in shared or virtual environmentsMy client is reviewing C.Vs this week, to be considered or to find outmore information please get in touch either by email or to my directline.
