My client, a global player in the FMCG market is looking to hire an Senior Procurement Manager for Packaging – metals, cans, tins, foil trays. This is an exciting role with a European remit for a Senior Sourcing Manager to define the procurement strategy and gain value from the supplier base in terms of strategic partnering and cost out. The Senior Purchasing Manager will be required to work with a diverse stakeholder group to define requirements across multiple work streams.

Key responsibilities in the role:

* Managing all commodities within the packaging Category (aluminium, plastic, tin etc) using strategic sourcing principles, understanding each countries priorities and needs.
* Managing suppliers, including score-carding and actively monitoring KPI's.
* Maintaining cost savings target as defined by the Category Director. Responsible for assessing and managing category risks and opportunities on a country level.
* Managing stakeholders within their country. Must be able to business partner with senior level internal stakeholders aligning on company priorities and needs. Must also build relationships at lower levels of the organization.

In order to be considered for this opportunity you will need the following skills and experience

* Excellent strategic sourcing, supplier management, spend analysis, and contract negotiations.
* Experience from with FMCG/Food/Drink
* Experience of sourcing a range of different packaging commodities
* Experience with contract management tools, spend analysis tools.
* Strong project management skills.
* Effective written and verbal communications skills.

You will be managing senior stakeholders across the business so will need to have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.

This role can be based in UK, Denmark or Germany
