HSS Hire is currently looking for a Debt Recovery Clerk to join us in our Finance Shared Service department in our Head Office.

Role Overview

The main purpose of the role of a Legal Clerk is to liaise with Credit Controllers, Stakeholders within the business, Customers and our External Debt Collection Agencies/Solicitors/Insolvency Practitioners.

Responsibilities include:
•Review accounts passed to the Debt Recovery Team and decide on the next appropriate course of action
•Contact customers by telephone, letter etc. regarding the collection of debt in accordance with the company policies and procedures
•Issue of County Court Action using Money Claim On Line
•Liaise with external Debt Collection Agents and Solicitors
•Record all action taken on an account utilising the Debt Management system, following up calls and actions as agreed with the customer/debt collection agent/solicitors.
•Review of Insolvency Paperwork, update the Debt Management System as appropriate and submit paperwork to the Insolvency Practitioners
•Allocation of monies to customer accounts
•Daily, weekly and monthly reporting of unmatched payments.
•Updating and communication of Target figures v current position.
•Handling of internal and external mail.
•Duties will include handling telephone enquiries from branches and customers
•Maintenance of the customer database and updating customer details.
•Handling Credit Reports on Limited Companies and Consumers.
•Excellent communication skills and attention to detail required.
•Working knowledge of Excel and Word are helpful.
•Good keying skills and speed would be advantageous.
•Represent the company and values ("HSSness") of the business and portray a professional and business-like image to all customers, potential customers and other people you meet in the course of your work.

•Willingness to carry out additional tasks and duties to assist in the effective operation of Financial Shared Service Department
