About the Job

Do you know your Baywatch from your Birmingham? We’re on the hunt for a top-class Lifeguard with a passion for great customer service, solving problems and personal drive, to work with our client in the leisure sector.

About the Employer

Our client plays a critical role in the community through its wide range of sports activities, fitness programmes and corporate events. The centre has a rich history in the community and continues to play a pivotal role in encouraging excellence and quality of service. As a Lifeguard with our client you would have the opportunity to contribute your own abilities whilst building your career with a well-established organisation within the local area.

About the Person

To be successful in the Lifeguard role you will most likely have a proven track record in a busy leisure environment as well as a background in dealing with high volumes of customers, adults and children. If you are successful in your application for the Lifeguard position, you will most likely be able to demonstrate that you can communicate effectively, collaborate with others and be able to assume responsibility. Most importantly, and as you would imagine given the nature of the responsibilities you will be expected to maintain your composure when under pressure particularly when faced with uncertain or challenging situations. It is essential that you possess a current Royal Lifesaving National Pool Lifeguard qualification, and desirable if you also possess a first aid at work qualification and pool plant operators’ certificate.

About the Job

Your primary responsibilities as Lifeguard will be to provide supervision of swimming pools and ensure customer safety at all times, by preventing accidents and incidents and by taking the appropriate action in the event of these occurring. You will also be expected to provide supervision for dry side activities and ensure that equipment is set up in order to meet the needs of programmed activities. As you would expect in this type of role cleanliness and hygiene in changing rooms, health suite and toilets will be of critical importance, and you will have a key role in ensuring high standards are maintained throughout. The expectations are high, but you will be given top class support both in terms of training, development and future career progression. Initially, the role will be on a temporary basis for minimum of 3 months with a view to becoming permanent.

The Reward

The hourly rate for the Lifeguard position will be £7.83 for 40 hours per week. Whilst this is initially a temporary position there is a genuine opportunity for a permanent position which would create longer term career opportunities with the client.

So, are you the one we’re looking for? If the Lifeguard role sounds of interest and you think you have what it takes, then we want to hear from you.
