We are recruiting currently for a Generator and UPS Project Manager to work for a thriving generator, UPS Systems, Switchgear and CHP business. The successful candidate is likely to be an experienced but energetic person, with time served on the tools, who is looking to move up in to project management from the same industry. A mature outlook is needed for the CHP Project Manager role with the ability to work under pressure and within tight timeframe. A practical and Mechanical/Electrical background will be essential, with a willingness to learn. Full training and backup support will be given to make a successful post.

The Project Manager will work within the Projects Department reporting to the Projects Operations Manager out of the office in Andover, and will need to travel in daily.

Role Overview:

The Project Manager will use organizational and IT skills to take responsibility for a project from receipt of order stage, through delivery, installation, and finally commissioning. This is mainly and office-based management role, unless required on-site by the client, or for efficiencies of project management. The CHP Manager will be expected to:

* Attend handover meeting with the Sales Department to take ownership of the project.
* Liaise with the Company’s supply chain for ordering components and coordinating the final preparation of the CHP.
* Organise and attend client site technical meetings.
* Coordinate delivery and installation logistics.
* Oversee commissioning and make sure the project is complete.

Experience and Qualifications:


* A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience as a Generator or CHP service engineer or similar role.
* Some previous relevant experience with diesel/gas engines.
* Strong practical knowledge of generator installations, including practical experience of changeover panels, inverter drives, electrical drives, remote radiators, fuel systems and associates BMS controls.
* Strong practical electrical engineering knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems.
* Practical knowledge of high-level software based control systems such as Comap / Deep Sea etc.
* IT skills:
* Fluent with Outlook, Excel, and Word
* Practical experience of using laptop based bespoke engine system analysis and control programmes such as Comap PC Suite / DSE Configurations Suite etc.
* The ability to work with complex commissioning equipment such a flue gas analysers, digital water flow, and temperature profiling devices etc.


* IT/Broadband Network knowledge
* CAD Qualification or practical skill.
* Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.
* IEE 17th Edition Qualified.
* CSCS Card
* Experience with building services plant such as boilers, HVAC, BMS etc.
* Knowledge of BMS protocol languages such as Modbus / Profibus / BACNet etc.
