Electrical\Electronic Design Engineering Team Leader
Salary is negotiable depending on experience.

Please note there is very little hands on Design in this role, you will be supporting the Design team with various projects, acting as a mentor and ensuring projects are run smoothly and on time.

JOB SUMMARY:
You are responsible for managing, leading and developing the Electrical\Electronic Design Engineers and associated Processes and Procedures.
Ensure outputs meet required standards in accordance with programme objectives including schedule and budget.
Provide technical input and guidance to the team and be responsible for the development of the team to ensure we achieve our key objectives whilst upholding our vision and values.
A key element of your role is to support the business in being flexible, agile, innovative and successful.

SOME KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the development of high quality reliable Electrical\Electronic capabilities
- Responsible for working with the Engineering team, and other business functions, to continually improve processes and implement changes
- Responsible for the effective leadership and management of direct reports
- Responsible for ensuring the Electrical\Electronic design team is adequately resourced, including recruitment and training of new staff or contractors
- Take overall responsibility for the management and maintenance of procedures and documentation used by and created by the Electrical\Electronic Team including ATSP's, Work Instructions, CAD Models, Drawings and Project Documentation.
- Responsible for developing estimates for new tasks or projects working alongside other business functions in the process
- Undertake regular 1-2-1 meetings and formal performance reviews

You will also be required to attend meetings, both internally and externally with customers and suppliers. There may be some UK and overseas travel. You should have a working knowledge of CE regulations and methods of compliance.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Degree qualified in Electrical\Electronic Engineering\related subject.
Minimum of 5 years' proven design experience in industry. A broad range of experience but ideally with strong all round Electrical\Electronic design knowledge.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to confidently deal with performance management.
Strong knowledge of CAD packages, particularly Altium and Zuken E3.
Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Experience in Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement processes & tools.
Man management experience essential
