Our Client, Shropshire Council, currently require an experienced Payroll Administrator to assist in providing a professional solution focused HR/Payroll Service across the Council.

We have both full and part time positions available.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Providing advice and support to managers and employees on payroll related matters;
• Provide day-to-day support to administrative staff within the team including assisting in the development of processes and delivery of training;
• Providing advice to team members, employees, managers and schools on the interpretation of Local Government, Teachers and NHS payroll related matters;
• Dealing with complex manual payroll calculations;
• Undertaking a range of HR/Payroll/Pensions transactions, ensuring that deadlines are met;
• Processing payroll information as required ensuring deadlines are met in accordance with published dates;
• Supporting the monthly payroll running process in conjunction with the Payroll Officer, including pre and post payroll checking of team’s work including the running and checking of exception reports at the end of each pay period;
• Dealing with special payments requests including authorisation;
• Monitoring the inputting of data and other activities ensuring that quality control measures are in place, checking for accuracy, and identifying training needs for team members;
• And other HR/Payroll related duties as specified by management.

The transformation programme is aimed at ‘Creating a better future’, which puts improving the quality of life of all local people at the heart of everything we do. A significant project within this programme is the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) project which will look to replace the existing systems for Finance, Procurement, HR & Payroll within our Resources and Support services
