Software Developer (Team Lead)

Bournemouth, with occasional travel to Southampton and London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Software Development Team Leader, leading a team of skilled developers and delivering complex internal system development projects across a variety of products and technologies.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Team leadership, strategy & planning To lead a team of software developers in the delivery of high quality software. Line management responsibilities will include 1-2-1 meetings, coaching & mentorship, identifying training needs, motivating and performance managing the team.
Manage the delivery of multiple complex simultaneous system development projects from design through to release.
Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices.
Support project resource scheduling and team capacity planning.
To facilitate the smooth delivery of projects, enhancements and support delivered by the team.
Gain sufficient business knowledge to be able to actively participate in specifying software solutions for business needs.
To build future-proof reusable core code libraries, which can be shared, in order to drive further efficiencies throughout the team.
To keep up to date with the latest software development technologies and methodologies.
To proactively drive innovation with new ideas and options made available by new technologies.
To use your experience when reviewing and auditing legacy code.

A senior level software developer with strong and successful technical lead experience.
Experience of leading a team of developers.
5+ years’ experience as a software developer.
Proficient with Microsoft .NET framework, C# and MVC.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Proven ability of tackling challenging projects.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server technology.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft office products such as; Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio & Project.
Self-motivating with a flexible approach.
Ability to motivate the team and the company to meet deadlines.

Experience with SCRUM and other Agile methodologies.
Experience with automated testing techniques.
Experience with web development technologies including ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 and AJAX.
