Principal Electronics Engineer

Key Responsibility Areas:
You will be responsible for all aspects of the design and development of mixed signal PCA Design which incorporates digital & analogue/RF techniques. In particular the timing and control aspects of interfacing between high speed FPGAs and DACs. ADCs & DDS. You will be responsible for all aspects of the life cycle from requirement capture, to concept development, detailed design and simulation through to commissioning, debug & design validation.

Required Skills:
Proven experience of Schematic Capture using Mentor Graphics DX Designer or similar.
Experience of designs utilising DDS, ADC, DAC or other Low Noise Mixed Signal devices.
Experience of Hardware design of complex FPGA based designs.
Ability to communicate effectively across different disciplines both verbally and in written form.
Ability to work on own or as part of a team to resolve technical issues.
Ability to analyse high level documents and derive detailed Unit requirements with limited guidance.
Methodical and thorough approach to hardware design.
Must be self-motivated and have an aptitude to problem solve and drive difficult issues to conclusion.
Ability to interface with suppliers of key components and assemblies

Desirable:
Experience of de-bugging and testing new designs and supporting module and system related test, verification and integration project phases as required by a development type programme prior to system deliveries.
Experience of high speed serial communication protocols and architectures
Applied Knowledge of a Staged Design Review process.
Previous experience of working with Superhetrodyne Receivers or Radar systems.

The Principal Electronics Engineer role will involve working on UK classified programmes the candidate must therefore be willing and able to obtain a security clearance
