We have a new and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic 2nd Line Support Engineer to work on various systems including Windows Server, Active Directory, MS Office 365, Networking, TCP/IP and Hyper-V / Terminal Services.

About the role

The role of the 2nd Line Technical support Engineer will be work within the Microsoft operating and application arena as well as helping with essential general system administration tasks. The role is based on resolving technical support tickets, working as part of a team on a busy Service Desk, with focus on delivery of technical support which needs to be completed in an effective manner with attention to detail and accuracy. The nature of our business requires a high level of technical knowledge, flexibility, common sense and initiative.

Duties include

* Logging and managing incidents and service requests raised by telephone, email and the customer self-service portal
* Ensuring incidents and service requests are resolved or updated within SLA's
* Resolving server issues and unplanned reboots
* Working with the SolarWinds AMA deploying Microsoft Updates
* Troubleshooting server-side event logs

Skills and Experience Required

* Windows Server Operating systems experience, 2008 / 2012 / 2016
* Windows Desktops, 7 / 10
* Active Directory - Managing AD Group Policies
* MS Office 365 including Azure
* Networking, TCP/IP,
* Hyper-V
* SonicWall / WatchGuard Firewall
* WAN/LAN experience
* MCSA, MCP, ITIL or working towards MCSE

The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure and have excellent communication skills and telephone manner. We are looking for a lively and enthusiastic Support Engineer with a proactive "can do" attitude to work with excellent customer services skills.

Hours of Work

40 per week covering service desk on a rota between the hours of 7am – 5pm
