Integration & Test Support Engineer, Signalling software- 6 month plus contract based in Derby £neg

Integration & Test Support Engineer required to support the integration and testing of the On-board Signalling Systems used on rail rolling stock projects.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Raise Defects in project RTC Defect Database: To raise defects with the defect database in a timely manner ensuring – clear and consistent information is captured and presented;
2. Defects Triage & Schedule Development for Defect Closure: Attendance at defect triage meetings to capture plans for defect resolution, software release dates, provision of additional information, etc;
3. Test Schedule Development & Daily Reports, Weekly KPIs: Support the Signalling Integration and Test Manager with maintenance and production of status reports and key performance charts;
4. Support Integration & Test Engineers with preparation of the following:
a. Development of Test Procedures;
b. Test Script & Simulation Development;
c. Train Software & Firmware Configuration;
d. Performance of Signalling Tests;
e. Testing Support.

Essential Experience:
1. Excellent standard of English, both written and verbal.
2. Familiarity with Microsoft Tools i.e. Excel, Word, Powerpoint, MS Project;
3. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a multi-national team.
4. Good understanding of project planning and progress tracking;
5. Good analytical & problem solving skills with a learning mind-set;

Desirable Experience:
1. Knowledge of modern on-board signalling systems;
2. Experience with software testing / development;
3. Understanding of systems and how they typically work ideally Train Control and Management Subsystems, Driver Displays, Ordinary Train Control Circuits, etc;

Location: Derby, United Kingdom. Some remote working may be possible for the right candidates, although it is anticipated that majority of work will be performed on site.

Working Hours: 40 Hours per Week. Potential for overtime where needed to meet needs of the Delivery Programme.

Rate: Market Rates depending on experience.
