Rullion Limited are currently recruiting on behalf of a large Utilities company based in the Northwest for a Project Engineer on a contract basis. We have been providing our client with experienced Individuals for over 10 years helping to deliver a high number of projects within the Industry.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to support the Project Manager (PM) and Senior Project Engineer (SPE) during all phases of the project life cycle.
The PE will be an interface between the contractor delivering the project and the Company, and will manage internal and external stakeholders and customers in the resolution of issues affecting progress.
Accountabilities
• The PE will demonstrate that they can represent AMS to our customers in a most professional manner.
• Dealing with customers and contractors for all aspects of AMS projects.
• Co-ordinating, allocating and monitoring of resources to deliver supported work.
• Liaising with the PM and SPE to ensure milestone delivery and batching of work.
• Encouraging team collaboration within their functional area and proactively promoting good team ethos.
• Deputise for the SPE in all other activities required to ensure efficient delivery of projects.
• In all their duties the PE will be accountable and will report to the PM and/or the SPE.
• To act as the NEC3 Supervisor ensuring the works are constructed in accordance with the contract.
• Ensure that work is completed on time, establishing monitoring and controlling cost forecasts at or below budget costs.
• Ensuring that relevant design information is supplied by the Contractor.
• Ensuring procedures are in place and are being followed (eg PDS etc).
• Use of corporate systems in line with the business expectations (CPMS, CEMAR, AMS Database, Business Collaborator etc).
• Ensuring that adequate and sufficient resources are being employed by the Contractor and their suppliers.
• Review construction risks with the contractor.
Knowledge and Skills
• Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in an Engineering or Project Management discipline
• Association of Project Management (APM) Introductory Certificate
• Track record of delivery of project portfolios
• Solid commercial, financial and analytical skills
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to be able to respond rapidly to unexpected events, having the ability to develop creative solutions to problems
• Delivery of key targets and objectives within the limits of available resources
• Proven track record of managing different contractual arrangements, competitive tender/partnering/frameworks
