Purpose of the role:

The main purpose of this role is to manage a team of assessors/tutors and provide internal quality assurance.

Key responsibilities:

1. To manage a team of assessors/Internal Quality Assurers/tutors to ensure learner achievement and progression are maintained in line with organisational requirements.
2. Carry out and evaluate internal assessment and quality assurance procedures and maintain up to date records of these procedures
3. Support and mentor assessors and tutors
4. Implement and monitor quality orientated procedures and processes (Including observations in line with the observation timetable)
5. To ensure contractual compliance across all aspects of delivery.
6. Maintain quality standards as defined by External Quality Assurers
7. To ensure apprenticeship and diploma achievement in line with company targets across all qualifications

Key duties:

• Monitor individual assessor, tutor and Internal Quality Assurer performance and provide support and guidance to optimise potential.
• Ensure compliance with the assessment and internal quality assurance processes and to review and revise, as appropriate.
• To ensure compliance with monthly revenue targets
• Produce and implement assessment and internal quality assurance sampling plans for all learners
• To authorise the submission of learner certification
• Deal with appeals and disputes in accordance with company procedures
• Undertake periodic field/classroom accompaniment to assist with the development of team members and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Review performance reports and undertake relevant action to address under performance and/or non compliance.
• Undertake PDPs in line with company practice.
• Agree and set performance targets and personal objectives, on a periodic basis, to satisfy both personal advancement and company goals.
• Ensure all team members undertake training to satisfy both statutory requirements and personnel development.
• Ensure team members are conversant with company policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
• Participate in team and company meetings.
• Ensure team members and learners are resourced to facilitate effective training.
• Monitor learner performance and undertake remedial action where appropriate.
• Ensure learner and health and safety reviews (vetting/monitoring) are undertaken in line with company policy.
• Ensure performance satisfies revenue and cost targets contained within team budget.
• To produce periodic performance reports, as directed.
• Undertake projects and initiatives as directed by the Managing Director.
• Participate in and support the annual self assessment process
• Support the external quality assurance and awarding organisation audit processes.
• Ensure adherence to funding body, inspectorate and awarding body procedures.
• Maintain and develop internal and external communications.
• Contribute to sustainability and becoming a global citizen
• Ensure that colleagues and learners are safeguarded against all types of bullying or abuse
• Adhere to ATLs equality and diversity policy in all aspects of work life

Qualifications & experience required:
Extensive working knowledge of the health and social care sector
Experience of line management in the work based learning sector.
Organisational skills and a sound attention to detail
Competent numeracy skills
Written and verbal communication skills
A1 assessor award
V1 verifier award
Management level 4 or equivalent

Salary Dependant On Experience:
£21,000 - £27,000
