Role: IT and Network Engineer

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £30,000 DOE

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an IT and Network Engineer to join an infrastructure team in a well-established organisation based in Birmingham. The successful candidate will be heavily involved in the management of our internal networking and IT team.

The position requires an individual with a passion for problem solving and the ability to work

under pressure to keep our services running, no matter what.

Responsibilities

* Supporting, maintaining and configuring the company’s network, Windows based services

and teleconferencing infrastructure. This will include:

* WatchGuard XTM 5xx series and Palo Alto PA-8xx series firewalls
* Cisco Catalyst 29xx and 35xx series switches
* Cisco BE6xxx, ISR and UCS for VOIP and videoconferencing
* Microsoft Windows 10/8/7/XP desktops and Windows Server 2012 R2
* Microsoft desktop applications - Office, Outlook, Internet Explorer etc.
* Experience with Active Directory support and administration
* Working with technology and infrastructure vendors
* Providing technical support for clients and colleagues in remote locations

Qualifications and essential experience

* A degree in a relevant subject is desirable.
* Relevant certifications are desirable e.g. CCNA
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience
* Excellent customer liaison skills
* Ability to deal with all levels of clients
* Proficient in supporting remote users
* Able to work in a time-pressured environment
* Must hold a full UK driving license
