2nd Line Support Engineer (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)

Central London – DV Clearance – 6 to 12+ Months Contract

Role Profile

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer to join a team of specialists to help support the live running of a number of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.

The role will involve the day to day management of VDI platforms which includes the following:

* Incident resolution.
* Root cause analysis of problems.
* Patching and updating of related infrastructure and VDI desktops.
* Strong change control of the systems.
* All business as usual enhancements and service improvements.
* Project work to implement new systems.

Candidate Profile

To be considered you are required to possess the following skills and be able to demonstrate working experience of these areas within your CV:

Essential experience:

* Hands on experience of managing and supporting a corporate sized VDI desktop solution, specifically knowledge of either Citrix of XenDesktop or Microsoft RDS Virtualisation hosting.
* Experience managing Windows Infrastructure such as Windows Server 2012 R2 & Client operating systems.
* Working in an ITIL led IT Service management environment.

Desirable experience:

* Related networking components, including Load balancers, gateways Proxy devices such as NetScaler, F5 and Bluecoat.
* Solid understanding of networking principles, including VPN’s routing and IPv4 principals.
* Experience of supporting Windows Domain Services such as AD, DHCP, DNS.
* Management of Hypervisor technologies.
* Essential Qualifications
* Either Citrix certified to professional level (CCP-V) or Microsoft Server 2012 R2 MCSA.
* ITIL Foundation.
* Desirable Qualifications
* Microsoft Server or Client operating system MCSE.
* Qualifications in Hypervisor technologies.
* ITIL Service Operations practitioner level certification.

Location: Central London

Duration: 6 - 12 Months Contract with the option for further contract renewals

Daily Rate: Highly Competitive (dependent on level of experience)
