Role: Test Rig Engineer
Location: Wolverhampton
Rate: £30 Ph DOE
Duration: 6 months

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8AM TILL 4.45PM, Friday 8AM TILL 12PM

The Test Rig Engineer provides test rig support to all multi-disciplinary Engineering project and Production teams and supports the Technical Lead for Test Rigs in achieving rig deliveries against program requirements on-time in full.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide expert input to the Engineering and Production teams on the subject of test rigs and associated equipment and their specification.
• Organise and lead PDR and CDR meetings for the test equipment.
• Ensure that procedures and process are applied.
• Planning and execution of acceptance and commissioning of test equipment.
• Liaise with Engineering and Production teams, suppliers and other departments on site to ensure timely accomplishment of plan.
• Ensure all EH&S and safety issues are addressed on new and existing test equipment.
• Provide technical support to Works Engineering Department on engineering and production test equipment breakdowns.
• Provide advice on obsolete equipment.
• Maintain the configuration of site wide test rigs and their associated software.
• Support the Engineering teams with test equipment definition, by specification and the acceptance requirements for such equipment.
• Maintain technical files and other appropriate documentation for test equipment.
• Support Environmental Health and Safety requirements and initiatives, including Risk Assessments.

Educational Qualifications:

• Engineering degree qualified or equivalent experience
• Hydro-Electro-Mechanical skills
• Software – PLC skills
• A knowledge of test systems applicable to verification and validation

Basic requirements:

Experience in various aspects of test equipment management, including commissioning, TPM systems, 5S, and EH and S awareness.

Skills Required:

• Multi-skilled – hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic and instrumentation working knowledge.
• Understanding of software and control.

• Good communicator – written and oral skills and report into supervisor.

• PC Literate – can use Microsoft packages – Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
