My client a leading IT solutions provider are seeking to recruit a 3rd Line Server Engineer

AIM OF THE ROLE:

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who are keen to be at the centre of a very fast paced and dynamic support department undergoing a complete system refresh into the newest technologies. Our team provides a complex mix of both customer and technical support for our internal user base. As the newest member of a dedicated team, the engineer will combine strong technical understanding with outstanding customer services skills.
The Third Line Server Engineer will work within a team supporting the internal customer base for growing Service Provider and manage the underlying infrastructure in line with our stated SLAs and OLAs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties will include, but are not restricted to the following:
- Advanced fault diagnosis and complex problem management skills
- Monitor, Review and Resolve technical support tickets and queue management
- Provide technical support and guidance to other departments across the business
- High level of documentation skills for KB, build, install and training requirements in line with PCI, ISO27001 & ISO9001 accreditations
- Manage integrity of configuration information stored on internal systems and devices
- Assist with development and testing of new internal IT services, upgrades & patch release
- Managing customer queries and providing advice, ranging from general queries to answering more specific technical questions.
- Ensuring resolution of any open tickets is managed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Manage and pro-actively ensure that timely and appropriate updates are communicated back to customers.
- Training/mentoring of junior engineers within the team

The ideal candidate will be a bright and enthusiastic individual who is dedicated to achieving great results, they will ideally have the following skills, attributes and experience:
- Excellent people skills, the ability to work, mentor and provide training/knowledge transfer within their own team and other teams or customers.

- Minimum 5 year’s experience in a customer supporting IT role having worked at a 3rd line level for at least 2 years.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work towards a common goal with a positive work ethic.
- Knowledge of ITIL guidelines (Foundation V3 accreditation) would be advantageous in this role
- Ability to pass a Government SC clearance check is a must.

Knowledge of the management and support knowledge for following the technologies:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2000/2003/2008/2012/2016 across multiple domains and sites o Powershell
o GPOs
o Active Directory
o Certificate Services
o DNS, TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP
- Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007/2010/2013
o Powershell
o Backup/Restore/Maintenance
- Citrix Xenapp/Xendesktop
- Azure/Office 365
- Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager
- Antivirus Technologies
- Backup Applications and DR/BC Workflows
- Virtualisation technologies (preferably VMWare)
- Storage Technologies

Some working knowledge of the following technologies would be desirable for the role:
- Microsoft Dynamics
- HP Service Manager
- Microsoft InTune
