Maintenance Technician required in Grays.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a brand new, purpose built facility, producing a world famous product.

This role is responsible for planning the engineers work, including TBM's, responsive actions, preventative maintenance (PM) tasks, continuous improvement and proactively planning and executing projects.

Sound electrical and mechanical knowledge is needed to enable efficient and effective planning of engineering tasks to be carried out by the maintenance team.

Duties include:
Analysing data from failure history and proactively taking ownership of continuous improvements on the machinery and working with production to improve results.
Plan TBM (Time Based Maintenance) and any defect rectification for the shift engineers.
Root Cause Analysis and solutions to prevent issues from recurring.
Management of contractors as required.
Maintaining a safe and clean environment, and complying with procedures and regulations.
Determining, documenting and completing PM activities including identification and rectification, on electrical and mechanical systems.
Fault finding of equipment both mechanical and electrical issues, including PLC and SCADA systems.
Determining and procuring electrical and mechanical spares to reduce Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) and increase Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF).
Able to review technical drawings.
Ensuring spares are available and reordered.
Ensuring that all equipment meets the legislative requirements.
Providing technical expertise for the specification, purchase, installation and commissioning of new equipment or equipment upgrades ensuring Management of Change processes are adhered to.
Ensuring an accurate and concise handover to other shifts.
Day-to-day upkeep of the facilities.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
Confident with the use of hand tools and power tools.
Demonstrate the ability to plan and run maintenance tasks and projects
HNC/HND in either Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
Previously work history with PLC's.
A minimum of 10 years previous experience as a multi-skilled engineer.
Knowledge of pumps and motors, VFD, control loop, single line diagram and an understanding of I/O's of PLC's.
Knowledge of Critical Management Maintenance Systems (CMMS)
Strong working knowledge of rotating and static machinery.
Good English language skills in oral and written communication.
To be able to work on day early and night shifts.
Maintain positive "Can Do" attitude & strives for continued improvement.

Green Belts experience.
Ability to read and interpret process flow diagrams and P&ID's.
High speed manufacturing experience.
Start-up and installation of process equipment experience.
