Mechanical Engineering Design Team Lead
The salary is negotiable depending on experience. Looking for people with a Defense or Naval background ideally though Aero will be considered.

Please note there is very little hands on Design in this role, you will be supporting the Design team with various projects, acting as a mentor and ensuring projects are run smoothly and on time.

The Mechanical Engineering Team Leader is responsible for managing, leading and developing the Mechanical Design (CAD) Engineers and associated Processes and Procedures.
With some key duties like:
- ensure outputs meet required standards in accordance with programme objectives including schedule and budget
- provide technical input and guidance to the team and be responsible for the development of the team
- continually improve processes and implement changes from lessons learned
- effective leadership and management of direct reports
responsible for ensuring the adoption of a robust Engineering review process with a strong focus on design objectives
- occasional travel both UK and overseas as necessary for the Engineering tasks involved

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering\related subject.
Have excellent leadership skills and make solid business decisions.
Strong knowledge of CAD packages, particularly PTC Creo.
Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Experience in Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement processes & tools.
You must have had man management experience previously
