Mental Health Teaching Assistant
A large SEN school in Lambeth is recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant to start after the Easter break. This is an ongoing full time position. Working hours will be 8.20am - 4pm Monday to Friday.
The school provides an exceptional education with individualised planning, so each child is able to learn at their own pace. Each student has an ECHP for multiple needs including ASD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
The selected candidate will be working on a 1:1 basis supporting a child who has Mental Health difficulties and challenging behaviour. At present the student is in isolation, therefore you will liaise with teachers and the inclusion manager to make sure work is being completed. With support you will work on techniques to integrate students back into lessons. The student has a history of physically aggressive episodes, therefore a team teach qualification would be beneficial. Previous experience with SEMH within an SEN school would also be advantageous.
In return the school will offer CPD, support and a friendly working environment.
If you are interested in this challenging and rewarding position, please send your CV to Keizsha De Jesus at Veritas Education.
