Control Engineer – Optical Systems – Cambridgeshire – EM/IM319

Salary / benefits: c£40-45k negotiable, plus benefits

Job Term: Permanent / Full Time

Job Outline:

A market leader in optical components is now looking for a Control Engineer to join their rapidly expanding engineering team.

Working within the engineering team, you will contribute to the development of Real-Time Control Systems.

The role will include experimental and analytical work to model dynamic systems, design and implement control schemes based on the models, and incorporate the control schemes into the final product.

Your primary duties will include modelling and characterisation of dynamic micromechanical systems.

You will design, implement, analyse and improve algorithms for embedded real-time multi-channel control systems.

In addition you will develop tools for selection of control parameters in production.

You will support the systems through production, into manufacture and post manufacture, including feature additions to existing systems.


Ideally you will have gained significant experience within a similar development role.

However, recent Masters or Bachelors graduates with a minimum of one to two year’s strong commercial development experience will be considered.


You must be qualified to Degree level in Engineering, Electronics, Control Systems, Maths, Physics or similar subject.

Additional Information:

Candidates MUST be eligible to work and live in the UK. Copies of passports / visa will be requested for verification.
