Specialist manufacturing business based in Tyne & Wear.
Job Details
The Materials Planner will order goods and services required on site for production, services and general supplies. Ensuring the correct availability of materials and thus effectively and efficiently ensure availability of products.
Main duties of the position include:
* Converting system generated (MRP) requisitions to purchase orders, optimizing inventory levels and editing SAP data when appropriate
* Converting requisitions to purchase orders
* Expediting purchase orders
* Purchasing of goods and services
* Negotiating prices and terms where appropriate and working closely with corporate purchasing
* Identifying cost reduction opportunities and pro-actively exploring those opportunities
* Liaising with suppliers and departments to ensure cost reduction initiatives are explored and controlled
* Maintenance of SAP system purchasing data
* Maintenance of paper files for contracts
* Setting up vendors on SAP and maintaining system
* Resolution of invoice queries & pricing control
Experience / Qualifications
Candidates should be CIPS qualified and have previous experience of working in a similar role.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate basic computer skills, MS Office is essential to the role as well as excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Experience of SAP would be an advantage but not essential to the role.
Salary / Shifts
Day Shift
Up to £27,000 depending on experience
