Excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Service Engineer to join a specialist in the provision of complex systems to the Marine sector. You will be travelling internationally and offshore to provide both service and commissioning of mechanical marine handling systems.

You will be responsible for the complete life cycle of all manufactured products from site assembly & test, installation, commissioning, repair and maintenance of complete Marine Handling Solutions located worldwide. This role involves extensive travel offshore anywhere from 2 days up to 8 weeks per trip.

Duties will include:

? Attend breakdowns and undertake fault finding

? Identifying faults and repairing products

? Liaise with customers and ensure that they are up to date on progress

? Be required to use a wide variety of testing equipment including load cells

? Advise customers on best possible solutions to ensure that equipment is working to the best of its ability.

Successful candidates will have a strong mechanical background with any additional ability to fault-find and modify PLC Programmes at customer sites advantageous. You will also:

? Ideally have a time served apprenticeship

? Be able to read and work from mechanical drawings

? Be competent with machine build, assembly and test of complex industrial equipment

? Flexible attitude - extensive travel worldwide

? Excellent customer service skills

? Able to use own initiative

? Excellent problem solving

? Able to work and remain calm under pressure

Any industrial background can be considered providing you are willing and flexible to train. You can expect a base salary c£26-30k with offshore allowances, overseas payments, overtime and pension. A van is provided for any UK work required.

This role is based in the West Midlands and is commutable from within and around the following areas: Telford, Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton and Wellington.

The travel is very project dependent and will vary year to year from 30 – 80% away from home so flexibility is key.
