Production Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Selection, recruitment of production operators.
 Training & development of operators.
 Maintaining adequate number of appropriately skilled operators to ensure the smooth and continuous production.
 Responsible for maximising the utilisation of labour and equipment resources whilst also considering quality and economy.
 Seek to improve both productivity and quality.
 Ensuring production deadlines for customer orders are achieved.
 Control of employee production relations and discipline.
 Carrying out annual appraisals of own staff.
 Following and enforcing company rules and policies.
 Routine liaison with production planner over machine loadings.
 Daily maintenance of subordinate’s worktimes on the company time and attendance system.
 Prompt review of holiday requests and formal approval of these requests after taking into consideration production requirements.
 Measurement, control and reporting of machine efficiencies.
 When requested preparation of annual financial plan for own department and control of own departments expenditure.
 To become familiar with the company’s ERP system (Epicor).
 Involvement in the planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes.
 To motivate own staff.

Education and Experience:

 Experience in a supervisory role.
 Practical experience in manufacturing and familiar with manufacturing concepts.
 Knowledge of production plant and equipment.
 Effective problem-solver and analytical capability.
 Excellent planning and organisational skills.
 Being computer literate with ability to use MS Office applications.
 Ability to quickly gain knowledge about the company’s production processes and product range.
