TAA are delighted to support our client in Oxford for a Defense Project Accountant

Overall purpose of the role
Provide consolidated financial reports for the Puma 2 Follow-on Support Arrangement (FSA) in accordance with the Single Source Contract Regulations (SSCR)
Assist in the coordination and reporting of all Defence Department related financial activities

Reporting: Completion of all regulatory reports required to meet SSCR requirements in accordance with the FSA Contract.
Offers: Liaise with the Defence Senior Management Team to validate the financial integrity of Defence offers.
Plan: Assist the Senior Commercial Manager in preparing the Defence Department Operational Plan (OP).
Forecast: Assist in the preparation of Defence Department quarterly forecasts incorporating reviews of the P&L, balance sheet and cash
Management reporting: Assist in the tracking of the actual Defence Department performance in comparison to OP target and forecasts against specific contracts.
Contracts reviews: Prepare Group contract reviews and monthly “Estimate at Completion” (EACs) updates. Ensure labour and sub-contractor costs are correctly booked.
Support month end closing for financial reporting.
Internal control: monitor adherence to company policies and procedures (such as risk management) and the relevant accounting standards.
Information system: maintain the defence related financial data in SAP, amend the reports, and address change request to the IT department if required


Minimum 5 years working in a finance environment
Good working knowledge of accountancy principles
Good oral and written communication skills
Good report and procedure writing skills
Use of MS office and Xcel in particular

Experience of working with SAP
Knowledge of Single Source Regulatory framework
Knowledge of Single Source Contract Regulations
Knowledge of MoD Commercial and Accountancy procedures

Professional accountancy qualification or part qualification.
GCSE in Mathematics
GCSE in English Language

Working Hours
Normal working hours (37½ per week).
Eligible for MoD Security Clearance
