Exam Technician

As a technician you will be responsible for fault finding, exam testing and maintaining key components on rolling stock trains.


A nationwide company with multiple facilities throughout the country would give you a great start within the rolling stock industry with opportunities with the company few and far within a buoyant market.

The role

This is an ideal opportunity for an exam technician if you are technically minded looking to develop a career within rolling stock. You will be essential to the running and servicing of the trains with a great chance to learn new skills or improve upon skills already gained within your career. Your duties will include safety critical work, fault finding, exam work, train carriage maintenance work.


You will have a NVQ level 2/ City and Guilds level 2 or an apprenticeship within an engineering background. If you have experience working in the armed forces and looking for a new career this could be just the position for you or if you have worked within a similar industry such as aerospace or heavy plant engineering, then you may well have the skill set to succeed.

Salary and Shift

The position is looking to pay candidates £18 per hour on a night shift of 7pm - 6am with a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
