Accounts Assistant - 12 month maternity cover
Status: 12 month contract
Salary: £20250 + bonus OTE c £30,000

Our client is a young, friendly and dynamic company, first established in 2007. Since then they have been helping their clients trace and claim for mis-sold PPI on forgotten credit agreements dating back to 1990.

In 2017 alone, they recovered over £63 million for many thousands of very happy clients .

Authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, they are not a Claims Management Company and they are not a call centre. They never cold call and never use SMS text messaging or aggressive marketing of any kind to win new business. Nor will they ever work with marketing companies that employ such methods. A third of their new business comes from referrals made by existing clients.

Rapid growth means they now employ more than 70 full time and 20 part time staff at their modern offices in central Stevenage, just a few minutes’ walk from the station and town centre.

They are still growing and have a number of vacancies, and are currently looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to assist and support their billing and accounts team on a full time basis to cover for maternity leave.

Duties expected to include:

* Bank reconciliations
* Payments receivable
* Accounts payable
* Credit control
* Payroll and associated tasks
* Training in and assisting with claims management admin tasks

You will have an excellent eye for detail and an outstanding track record in similar roles at other organisations. You’ll also have excellent and quick computer skills with experience in a range of accounting software, Microsoft Office Packages. They use the Quickbooks accounting system, so experience of that is desirable. Equally as desirable is an AAT background or training.

You should be able to hit the ground running and be able to work in a busy, fast paced, open plan office environment.

To allow for a successful handover, we will be looking for the successful applicant to start late April/early May.


You will join on a basic starting salary of £20,250 (rising to £21,600 after one year) plus a generous monthly bonus based on overall company performance (average bonus for 2017 = £1,100 per month per employee) that starts once your three month probationary period is successfully completed.
