A leading software house specialising in solutions for some of the world’s largest engineering and manufacturing firms have an immediate requirement for Technical Artist to join them at their offices in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

Salary: Open to neg Circa £50,000 - £60,000+ (what are you on?) + bonus and superb benefits

They are the world’s leading independent supplier of ‘CAD to CAD’ and ‘CAD to Visualization Product’ Data Exchange tools. As well as its extensive range of direct translation tools they have developed a range of STEP and 3D PDF translators and supporting process automation solutions.

As Technical Artist you will be working on Holographic, Virtual and Augmented Reality content. Forming a core part of our team, you will work collaboratively with the Product Managers and Software Developers to inspire, drive and support amazing visuals through all stages of production.

As Technical Artist (Unity) your main role will include:

* Delivery of content on schedule and to high standards
* Taking a lead role in defining a consistent artistic look and feel for the products
* Working with developers to debug visual issues and prototype new ideas and concepts to deliver best-in-class visual quality for Digital Realities Products
* Responsible for identifying and creating tools to improve art pipelines
* Deliver complete tool sets independently
* Manage, create, and optimize real-time ready assets for product and product demos
* Create and debug prototypes, pipeline tools and visual effects
* Maintain proprietary plug-in compatibility with various form factors like AR, MR and VR with up-to-date versions of Unity

Key skills and experience needed:

* Unity experience is essential
* Knowledge of programming languages such as Python/C#/C++/HLSL
* Deep understanding of the technology behind rendering - how to write shaders
* Proficient in Unity to help create demos and prototypes, experience with AR/VR/MR
* Deep knowledge of 3D/2D creation packages Maya, Max, Houdini, Zbrush, Photoshop etc
* Gaming asset production workflow experience
* General ability to create 2D and 3D art for prototypes and content
* An understanding of 3D geometry/CAD will also be a benefit.

This role may require the successful candidate to undertake travel in the UK and overseas, you must be comfortable with flying and a driving license is required.
