Our client runs one of London's finest International Private Schools. They are currently looking to recruit a Financial Accountant and Internal Auditor to join their finance team.

The Financial Accountant and Internal Auditor reports directly to the Financial Manager and works in the Accounts department, comprised of 5 colleagues. The role holder assists the team in managing budgets, accounts and treasury, as well as playing a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the School's policies, procedures and standards.


Annual Accounts and Budgets

Assisting the Accountant in the preparation of the annual statutory financial statements in accordance with the Companies Act, Charities Act, SORP and Accounting Principles for the Director of Finance and external auditors, and liaising with the latter during the annual audit of the financial statements.

Internal Auditing

Auditing financial records, investigating financial anomalies and carrying out appraisal of the effectiveness of the policies, procedures and standards by which the School's financial resources are managed.

Treasury Tasks

Liaising with Investment fund managers, reviewing daily cash balances, credit card merchants and ensuring all the financial products are complied.

Data Analysis

Analyzing, describing, evaluating and interpreting data, using analytical and logical reasoning to draw conclusions.

Essential qualifications/experience

University educated with STEM degree or professional accountancy qualification, or substantial professional experience in a similar role
Excellent IT skills, advanced knowledge of MS Excel (Vlookup, Match, if statements)
Excellent numerical and analytical skills
Proven ability to gather and analyze data and to prepare and present concise oral and written reports
High level of emotional intelligence
Ability to communicate tactfully and diplomatically with adults and students
A proven commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people
Desirable Criteria

An understanding of modern audit procedures
Experience of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques
Knowledge of data modelling, data cleansing, and data enrichment techniques
Experience in an independent/international school environment
