Each piece that bares the brand name has been created by their Heavy Tailors, A group of skilled artisans with over 40 years’ experience. Inspired by a library of carefully selected archive pieces the Heavy Tailors painstakingly create all of the patterns, fits and washes for the Jeans by hand, no machine can match the level of craftsmanship displayed by our Heavy Tailors.
Our client proudly upholds the high standards of craftsmanship that the Heavy Tailors are known for.
The brand is currently evolving to a higher end and cleaner look.

The Role Specification
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the company for an Experienced Menswear Designer.
Key functions of the role will include:
Holding the whole design process together
Designing all individual segments for four collections each year. Multiple Product Categories and accessories
Collating and using information for colour, fabric and styles to drive product and range development
Reviewing past performance, competition and occasional visit to fairs, shows, and directional shops etc. to keep up to date with new design developments
Developing the range to make sure it evolves by evaluating the success of designs, researching competition and developing samples
Establish a close relationship with key suppliers oversees to ensure these suppliers have the relevant information from original CAD stage through to SMS
Consistently driving the brand forward, introducing product initiatives and being aware of new techniques
Work within the critical path to adhere to lead times and to ensure collections are launched on time
Desired Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will be passionate about fashion, music, art and culture and will have a 24/7 interest in design but not be trend obsessed
A Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design, ideally first class
A minimum of 5 years' experience of working as a Menswear Designer with multi-product experience
Excellent knowledge of CAD and be proficient in Adobe CS5 (photoshop/illustrator)
Commercial awareness
Experience of working with overseas’ buyers
Able to display fast reaction to product development
To be able to work effectively alone and also as part of a team and to be able to influence and communicate at all levels including with senior management and directors
Confident to challenge ideas/decisions and be challenged and able to perform effectively under pressure and within timescales
Adaptive to change, excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, ambition and the drive to progress
An ability to illustrate would be highly desirable
Salary
Negotiable for the right candidate
Hours
9.00am to 5.00pm with half an hour for lunch
