My client is a well know brand within the Food and Beverage sector and are currently looking for a Purchasing Assistant to be based out of their Nottinghamshire site.
The successful Purchasing Assistant will support the purchasing and planning function and be the right hand person of the Purchasing Manager.
Responsibilities of the Purchasing Assistant:

- Ensure that any purchases of materials, packaging and any other requirements in the company's stock items shall be purchased in a timely and correct manner.

- Ensure that all the specifications in any purchases shall be in compliance with the Technical standard (BRC AA+) or Customer’s Technical standard at all times

- Ensure that the stock level in value and volume shall be kept as low as possible in order to bring the lowest Storage Costs and the highest Cash Flow to the Company by understanding the daily usages for all the stock items in the operation in a timely and correct manner.

- For the search to the new materials and packages with the best quality and which shall be met with the Technical standard and specification following the requests by the New Product Development team.

- Ensure that the company conditions of purchase shall be fully understood and all the purchases shall be in accordance with those conditions at all times.

- Ensure that all daily deliveries shall be updated on the same day as the deliveries and the settlement of any quality claim or the discrepancies between the Goods ordered and the ones delivered shall be completed as soon as possible.

- Ensure that all the data shall be updated as soon as any new contracts are made or any amendments (price, volume and delivery dates etc) to the existing contracts are made

Required experience
- At least 2 years experience in a similar field
- High level of Excel, Words and Power points skills
